description
A pair of white opal Murano glass sconces designed in the 1970s by Carlo Nason for A.V. Mazzega. This company was founded by Angelo Vittorio Mazzega in the islands of Murano, the noble Venetian glass industry. In 1950, his son Gianni Bruno Mazzega began working as a designer/glassblower in the family's glass factory. Around 1965, Gianni Bruno Mazzega met his former neighbor Carlo Nason bette, also a glassblower/designer. Both shared a passion for Murano glass art and a good collaboration soon followed from this. From 1965 to 1980, he designed the entire AV Mazzega collection. Each wall lamp is equipped with E27 fitting. The glass of both wall lamps is in perfect condition. The white lacquered metal frame shows slight patina and signs of use.
