The Up5 armchair and Up6 ottoman, designed by Gaetano Pesce for B&B Italia, represent a tribute to women.Being often tied to each other by a wire, the chair and footrest symbolize the everyday burden of life for women. On the other hand, its expressive shapes remind us of the female body: two large breasts characterize the upper part of the backrest, while the lower part recalls the thighs. Sitting in this armchair makes you feel protected, just like a mother’s embrace.
The pieces are made of expanded polyurethane, reminding the designer of the characteristics of a sponge.
Here, both have been restored in green bouclé, a thick and dense fabric.
