PAIR OF MODERNIST HUNTING CHAIRS - 50'S

sold
description
This rare pair of easy chairs in soap treated oak with natural saddle leather upholstery is a good representation of modernist design. The seamless integration of sleek lines and minimalist cubist armrests, along with the double bridle joints, adds a touch of elegance to their overall aesthetic.
These modernist chairs does indeed bear some resemblance to the iconic Hunting chair created by notable designer Borge Mogensen but as well of the design by Michel Arnoult or Edvin Helseth. However, for this particular pair, the designer remains unknown. Nonetheless, they exude a timeless appeal and showcase the influence of mid-century design.
The chairs have acquired a beautiful patina over time, highlighting their vintage charm. It is expected for vintage chairs to show some signs of age, as these imperfections can add character and authenticity to the piece. Therefore, the wear seen on these chairs is likely in line with what is typical for chairs from the 1950s.
