BRUTALIST 2-SEAT SOFA - 'MP-41' - Percival Lafer

MP-41 two-seater sofa in orange/brown leather and solid walnut frame, designed by Percival Lafer in 1970 for MP Lafer, Brazil.The sofa was reupholstered several years ago by a professional upholsterer. The saddle leather straps that hold the upholstered seat in place are still original.
Over the decades, the varnish on the wood had discoloured so much that the original colour of the wood had been lost. Our restorer decided to strip the frame completely and apply several coats of natural oil. As a result, the beautiful deep dark brown color of the solid walnut is once again visible!
