description
A ‘1853’ table lamp - large version, designed by Max Ingrand in 1954 and manufactured by Fontana Arte in Italy.French glassmaker Max Ingrand, known previously for his stained glasswork, became the creative director of Fontana Arte in the same year. To commemorate his iconic design, the lamp later got renamed simply ‘Fontana’.
The table lamp consists of a metal base, a glass globe and a glass lampshade. Both glass pieces are made from mouth-blown crystal glass, giving the lamp a soft light. Bulbs can be found in both the base and under the lampshade, allowing each part to be lit separately as well. The bulbs are controlled by a double switch.
The table lamp remains in very good condition.
