A set of Hunting Chairs - Børge Mogensen
sold
description
A set of Spanish dining chairs designed in 1951 by Børge Mogensen for Frederica Stolefabrik. The set consists of 3 chairs without armrests (Model 3237) and 1 with armrests (Model 3238). The chairs are also known as the 'Hunting' dining chairs. Børge Mogensen drew much of his inspiration from traditional chairs of other cultures, such as English Windsor chairs and the Shaker movement in America. In Spain, a traditional way of making furniture involved the use of sturdy leather to construct the seat as part of a wooden structure. The structure is made of solid oak wood, stretched with natural colour core leather. Minor wear commensurate with age, the leather has slight patina and some stains.
