COFFEE TABLE - JUMBO - Gae Aulenti
description
The Jumbo coffee table was originally designed by Gea Aulenti in 1965. However, it was not until 1968 that she first collaborated with Knoll on two showroom designs - Boston (1968) and 745 Fifth Avenue in New York (1970). In 1972 Knoll introduced the Jumbo Table, an imposing design for a marble coffee table. The square Carrara marble top is supported by four double column legs that fit perfectly into the cut-out round corners. This is a very early edition from the first half of the 1970s. The early editions can be recognised by the high-gloss lacquered marble.
The table shows patina, light discolouration and signs of use over many decades.
