'Morandi Series' Vase - Gio Ponti
description
A beautiful vase in handblown glass, designed in the 1950's by Gio Ponti for Venini. This piece is part of the 'Morandi' series and was manufactured in 1990.
The making of this vase was inspired by Italian painter Giorgio Morandi (1894-1964), who is mostly known for his still lives of vases.
Using the Incalmo technique, a dark blue top and cyan bottom were melted together.
Along with a carved signature on the bottom, the manufacturer's logo is present.
The vase contains little to no traces of wear.
