MODEL 4043 SPHERE LAMP

Floor-, table lamp ‘Model 4043’ designed by Filippo Panseca in 1968 for Kartell, Italy. Two different sizes were released, this is the smaller version.
The transparent acrylic sphere is divided by a mirror placed in the centre of the sphere. This creates an interesting play of reflected light caused by the light from the base on which the sphere rests. Placing the sphere in different positions on the polished stainless steel base creates a different interaction each time. The lamp is in good condition and shows the necessary signs of use and visible scratches on one side of the sphere that have occurred over the years.
