Model S64 Arm Chair - Thonet - Marcel Breuer

A cantilever chair, model S64, designed by Marcel Breuer in the 1920s, Germany. The chair is also known as the 'Cesca' chair, named after his daughter Francesca. This example dates from the 1980s, produced by Thonet. The frame is in chrome-plated tubular steel, with a curved wooden frame and armrests made of solid beech wood. The wicker seat with backrest has been redone by a professional, ensuring longevity.Over the years, the chair has developed patina and signs of use. Nonetheless, the chair's overall condition is very good. This model is widely regarded as being one of the most significant modernist classics and are a great example of Bauhaus design.
