Model 640 coffee table, a beautifully crafted in solid teak. This design was created by the architect duo Peter Hvidt and Orla Mølgaard Nielsen in 1956, during the heyday of post-war Danish modernism.The table was manufactured by France & Daverkosen, which later became France § Søn in Denmark.
This design is another wonderful example of the craftsmanship of Danish cabinetmakers. The joining techniques in the base, the curves in the top, the 'floating' top. Everything exudes refinement and unprecedented class.
The table can be extended by means of an extendable tabletop in black laminate.
On the underside of the top is the original manufacturer's emblem.
The table is in excellent condition and has a beautiful patina.
