sold
description
Set of 4 Plia folding chairs designed by Giancarlo Piretti for Castelli in the 1960s. The chair was presented at the Milan Fair in 1967.For the Plia chair, the designer Giancarlo Piretti developed the “3-disk pivot.” This concept of a folding chair and its “ 3-disk pivot” study is considered a stroke of genius. The combination of polypropylene and a metal frame paved the way for the Plia chair, which over time has become a cult object.
This set is made of chromed metal and with transparent fumé polypropylene seat and back.
The chairs show some minor scratches and signs of use on the seat and back from use over the years. There are no cracks on the seats or backrests.
