'Zonneserie' Floor Lamp - Herman Busquet

description
This floor lamp belongs to the ‘Zonneserie’, designed by Herman Busquet for Hala Zeist (Netherlands) during the 1950s. These floor lamps are often referred to as 'Grasshopper' due to their characteristic shape. The shade consists of a black lacquered hood with a white metal diffuser underneath. Furthermore it has a white rod and a black V-shaped foot.
The diffusion of the light can be adjusted by turning the inner shade and the postion of the shade can be adjusted by the gooseneck.
Its design reminds of other mid-century floor lamps, such as those of Willem Hagoort and Van Doorn.
The floor lamp remains in very good condition, with some slight traces of use which are normal for its age.
