Fiberglass Chandelier

Here we have an Italian chandelier from the 1960s, made by the lighting company Luci.
During this period, design was heavily influenced by the emerging space age. This resulted in the use of new materials, such as fiberglass, and expressive, organic shapes. Both can be seen in the lampshade, which shows off the beautiful texture of the fiberglass, matching the flowing design.
This lamp was designed in 1968 combining futuristic design with the minimalist features of modernism. This combination of styles quickly gives the impression that the lamp might as well have been designed in the 1980s.
Placing the lamp slightly further away from the lampshade creates a beautiful lighting effect.
The cord is adjustable in length. The support structure is made of stainless steel and shows some signs of use and wear in line with the lamp's age.
