Each item for sale on Modest Furniture is offered subject to the following Terms and Conditions of Sale

Examinations of Items

Buyers are responsible for satisfying themselves as to the condition or any other matter concerning items available on Modest Furniture. Because of the vintage nature of our items, buyers should know that most pieces were previously owned; buyers are advised to inquire via phone, email or in person about the condition of any property on which they intend purchase. All condition issues may not be photographed or referenced online, but we are pleased to personally provide a more detailed description and/or additional photographs prior to your purchase.Statements given regarding any item on Modest Furniture, whether orally or in writing, are intended as opinion only and do not constitute a warranty.

Placing your order

Once you have placed your order, we will ask you for your invoice and shipping information. If you are buying under a company name please make sure to let us know your VAT / TVA number. The items will be automatically kept on hold for you.In case shipping is needed we will provide you with a shipping quote. We will then send you an invoice which includes the ordered items and the shipping costs. Receipt of this email constitutes acceptance of your order. When receiving the invoice, the payment should be made into 7 working days. After the payment is confirmed we will pack the items and book the shipment.Depending on the size of the item and the destination, handling time may vary.

Payment

Payment should be made into 7 working days. All payments must be made in the mentioned currency, in any of the following acceptable forms of payment:- Visa and Mastercard payments through Worldline, transaction fee may apply- Bank transfers, bank surcharge may apply

VAT

We work under a VAT margin scheme as we sell second hand items. This means we don’t add 21% VAT.

Shipping

We can provide or arrange packing and/or shipping services. All sold items will be very well packed for transport. However, any such services provided or arranged by us are at the buyer's sole risk and expense. For seafreight we offer crating as well.Quotes for shipment can be given in advance of purchase. Modest Furniture works with several transport companies so we can find out the best price for your destination. When you prefer to ship with your own carrier, please specify the following information : carrier name, service and account. Afterwards we will send the weight and dimensions of the package. * Please note that the shipping includes only front door delivery. When the item(s) should be lifted on a different level, communication is needed before the item(s) are shipped out. Also this can increase the shipping cost.

Insurance

Every sold item that will be shipped out is insured for the price it is sold for. When shipped out, we send you the information that is needed to receive the package.

Privacy Policy

Modest Furniture is dedicated to protecting the privacy of its clients. We will not share your personal information with any third party unless approved by you.

Refund

If you are not satisfied with your purchase, we will be happy to offer you a refund. (Please note that this does not apply to B2B orders). Claims must be made within 14 days of receiving the item. Refunds will only be issued once we have received the item back in the same condition it was sent out in. We will pay for the returned item within 14 days of receiving it.It is most important to us that our customers are completely satisfied with their purchases. Shipping and packing / crating costs are non-refundable. If you decide on a refund, shipping costs back to our warehouse are also non-refundable. Out of our experience we know that an open communication with our clients and partners will result in smooth and efficient transactions.
