Dining table ‘Tobia’ in red travertine
Afra and Tobia Scarpa

This dining table was designed by Afra & Tobia Scarpa for B&B Italia in the 1970s.
The rectangular top has rounded edges and is made of red travertine with visible pores. There is natural variation in tone and structure. The edges of the travertine are softly rounded.
The cylindrical base is clad in leather panels arranged in a geometric pattern. The internal construction comprises four concrete counterweights.
The tabletop has been professionally restored and is in very good condition. The original polyester varnish has been removed, and the stone has been re-polished and honed to enhance its natural character. Minor signs of wear are visible only in a few areas along the edges, while the stone remains fully intact—free from any chips or cracks. The leather shows stains, which are consistent with age and use.
