EXECUTIVE CHAIR - MODEL 72 - Eero Saarinen
sold
description
A set of 6 original vintage Executive Chair Model 72 designed by Eero Saarinen in 1948 for Knoll International. The chairs are probably in the original fabric and with the wooden legs finished in teak veneer. This is a early production from the fifties by De Coene in Kortrijk, Belgium. This group of chairs were part of an interior designed by the Belgian architect Jul de Roover (1913-2010) for Jeanne Brabants, founder of the Royal Ballet of Flanders in Antwerp. The chairs are in used condition and could use new foam and upholstery. However, for the purist, we have left them in their 'original' condition.
Please notice: In 1954, De Coene acquired the exclusive Benelux license right to manufacture and sell modern American Knoll furniture. This explains how these chairs were produced in Belgium and not in the States.
